The Story So Far

Long before Breckland Lodge opened in the early 2000s, this site on London Road was home to the White Lodge Inn, a Grade II-listed, timber-framed coaching inn dating back to around 1700. With its thatched roof, dormer windows, and elegant 18th-century fireplace, it offered rest to weary travellers along the Norwich to Thetford route. By the late 20th century, it gave way to the modern Breckland Lodge. Though updated and modern, its legacy endures, a fine example of Norfolk’s long tradition of roadside hospitality.

Attleborough & Thetford

Attleborough is just lovely, full of charm, with market town warmth and winding streets lined with history. Thetford, just a short hop away, is rich in heritage, with ancient ruins, expansive forest, riverside walks, and a touch of wild beauty. Together, they offer a delightful blend of countryside calm and quiet discovery. It’s all rather peaceful, wonderfully British, and just the sort of place you’d happily stumble upon and never quite want to leave.
